Language - The main image on this magazine is of the lead singer from screamo band Bring Me The Horizon'. The image of the singer is after a gig that they have done because you can see the stage in the background. There is a banner on the image which says '12 Bring Me The Horizon'. This shows that the article about BMTH is on page 12 of this issue of Kerrang! In the middle of the contents page is a special offer which will attract the readers because it says '30 Seconds To Mars Poster Special'. This will make people want to buy the magazine because they are getting something with the magazine that they are buying. All of the headings are in a bright yellow font which makes the subheadings stand out against the background. The rest of the font is in black which also stands out against the background.
Ideology - The theme of this contents page is to provide the audience with what is going to happen in this issue of Kerrang! magazine. It also shows what articles are in this magazine and what bands/singers are featured. The contents page will also advertise any special offers and will tell you where to find them. The contents page is there to show people where the specific articles are instead of them just going threw the full magazine.
Institution- With this magazine been available all over they will distribute it in supermarkets or any shop that sell magazines. This is because people all over like rock music and this gives you alot of information on rock music/bands so it needs to be in a shop where everyone will have access to it.
Audience - The audience for this specific magazine is definitely people who love rock music. This is shown by the bands that are featured throughout the magazine. The audience that will be reading this magazine is ages 15-35. This is because Kerrang! is known as the biggest UK gig guide and over 14's can only goto gig's that are featured in this magazine. This is because some of the songs have explicit language in which may not be suitable for under 14's. The age range of 15-35 is a good age range because they will be able to afford the £2 to buy the magazine on a weekly basis.
Representation - The representation for this contents page is to give the readers all the information they need. They will also keep putting in what people love to read about so they buy it week in week out.
