LIIAR Analysis- Contents Page.

LIIAR Anaylsis- Contents Page;

Language- The language used on the contents page is very easy to read because it is a clear font that stands out against the plain background. The language is a decent font and is a bold plain colour which also means it stands out against the background. The 'contents' at the top of the page stands out because it is a white font which stands out against the background and is also a unusual font which will catch the readers eyes.

Institution- The theme throughout the contents page is the same. The background is in a green colour and the writing is in black and white. This is a good colour scheme because it is the same throughout the contents page.
Ideology- By looking at the contents page it looks like the theme is on colleges. This is because it advertises different articles which will help the students understand what is going on around the college and gives them the opportunity to see what is going on.
Audience- The audience is going to be the students that are going to read this magazine. The audience will use this magazine for information and to find out what is going on around the college. The students will also use this to find out what competitons and parties are going on and also use this for help. The target audience for the college magazine will be 16-19 years olds because you start college when your sixteen and stay for either 2 or 3 years.

Representation- This contents page represents the College the magazine is promoting by having different articles about the college. The contents page also shows that it is a college magazine because there is an article called 'Latest College News'. With the images on the contents page they represent what the article will be about. This is because they have the page number included and it could possibly be the main image on the article.

Analysing Photos.

I took this photo so I could promote where to smoke on the college grounds. I would use this photo to show that you are not allowed to smoke on the college grounds.

I also got this photo to promote where you can smoke around the college.

This photograph shows that when you are at college and are doing work you can still be with your friends and have a laugh. This is shown by one of the students laughing whilst looking at the book.

This is a good photograph which shows that the student is engaged in her studies. This is shown by her looking through her planner whilst still having a smile on her face.

This photograph shows that if you have a study period you can share it with your friend and you can do the work together.

This photograph shows that if you have a study period you can share it with your friend and you can do the work together.

This photograph shows that if you have a study period you can share it with your friends and you can all help each other with there work and still have a good time. With the students look happy it suggests that they enjoy college.

This photograph shows that you can be with your friends whenever you want.

This picture advertises a friendly representation of the college and it also shows one of the college buildings in the background.

The two images above are what im thinking of using for my main image. This is because these images show a student having a good time whilst having work with her (folder).

Digital Mock Up.

This is the digital mock up of what my college magazine front cover is going to look like. Where the conventions are located is where they will be on my front cover.

Front Page Planning.

Masthead Fonts;
This font will be used when I start my magazine. This specific font will be used on the masthead. The fonts below are the five fonts that i think will be most suitable for the masthead. This is because they all will stand out against the background. The fonts are all basic which means you will be able to read them without difficulty. When I do my final design i will use one of the five fonts below for the masthead.

Masthead Font- Colour;
For my college magazine I have chosen the font Lucida Handwriting. I have chosen this because it is a nice clear font which will also stand out against the background. When I chose the font I then had to decide what colour i should use and have tested out five different colours. The colours below will all stand out against the background because they are all bright and will also catch the readers attention.

The Brief - Analysis.

LIIAR analysis of a college magazine.

Language;
The language on a college magazine front page are the key conventions. The conventions include things as the masthead, subheadings etc. The key conventions are an important part of the college magazine because they can be used as a guideline to make sure that you have everything you need in your college magazine.

Institution;
The majority of college's will have a magazine which will represent the college and education. The magazine can be made by students which shows the students perspective of the college which may be good for people that are thinking of enroling at the college.

Ideology;
The ideology of the college magazine will be to encourage students that this is the right college for them to go to and that they can still have a good social life aswell as an education. This will be good information for the students so that they can enjoy their social life whilst getting an education. If the students that goto the college will feel more encouraged to work harder as well and it would set a positive example.

Audience;
The audience for the college is the students that already attend the college. This is because it will give them information throughout the magazine. The magazine will not promote the college, this is because it is only for the students that attend the college.

Represented;
The magazine will represent the college and the students that attend. It would represent students because students are stereotyped as been negative in the media. The magazine will promote the college in a positive way and it will show that not all students are the same.

LLIAR anaylis of a college magazine.

College Magazine- LLIAR Analysis.

Language- The language on the magazine is easy to read with it been bold and it stands out against the background. The masthead is a bright bold red which also stands out and catches the readers eye and is positioned at the top of the magazine. The colour scheme on the magazine stands out against the background so it will catch the readers attention. The colour scheme on this particular college magazine is black, red and blue. These colours stand out against the plain background and the writing is in a bold font which also makes the colour stand out more. The writing is a descent size font which also makes it easier to read. The barcode is in the bottom right hand corner and has a blue attachment to it which will be the date that the magazine was issued. The subtitles are in blue and black. If the subheading is in blue the writing below it will be in black. This shows consistency throughout the front page of the magazine. The writing below the masthead is in a small white font which still stands out against the background but not as much as the rest of the writing.

Institution- This magazine will be sold within the college grounds. This is because the magazine is specifically to sell/give to the students that attend that college.

Ideology- The theme of this college magazine is to encourage students that they can have a good time at college even if they are studying. This is because students want to enjoy life and also get an education, which you can do at college.

Audience- The audience for this magazine will be the people that attend the specific college. This indicates that they will be between the ages of 16 and 19. The front cover shows that this magazine is especially for students. This is because the masthead is 'College'. The model on the magazine front cover looks like she is a student because she looks between the ages of 16-19.

Representation- The representation for this magazine is to show what happens throughout the college. It may give information on what extra tutorial lessons there is, what parties the college hosts and what competitions happen around the college.

College Magazine;

I found this image of a college magazine on google images.

The colour scheme is very important to this magazine cover as the background is black so they will have needed to get bright bold colours that stood out. The masterhead on this image stands out really well because it is a bright colour and is in a large bold font. With the other writing been in white and yellow they stand out as the main image has a lot of black on it so the colours stand out really well.

The main image is a medium close up which shows good detail on what the model is wearing and if you look at it closely you can read what is on the books. The image shows alot of detail on the models clothes and especially non his face. This image is important because it shows that the model is happy and it looks like he is having a good time at college. The image also shows that college students can wear what they want which may appeal to people who want to ditch the school uniforms.

The barcode stands out well on this background aswell as it is white against a black background and it is in the bottom left hand corner. This is a good place to put the barcode because if the magazines are stacked on the shelf the barcode will be showing which usually has the price either above it or down the side.

The sub-headings on the magazine are in bright bold colours which will also stand out and they are the same colour as the masterhead which shows a consistent colour scheme throughout the front page of the magazine. Some of the sub-headings are in white which goes with the background of the magazine as it is in black.

The font on this magazine is bright and bold. This is so that the text will stand out from the background. The bold font stands out and catches the readers/buyers attention.
